New internationally acclaimed life sciences director joins Essenta’s advisory board

London (August, 2015) – Essenta, the international management advisory company combining organisational performance, innovation and neuroscience, has today appointed a new member, Jackie Parkin, to serve on its international advisory board. Jackie Parkin has an extensive and distinguished medical background, both clinically and academically. She is an expert in infectious disease and immunology, achieving her PhD as a Wellcome Research Fellow and has published over 50 scientific papers and chapters. She joins Essenta from GlaxoSmithKline where she held several senior positions in medical and drug discoveries, as well as serving as a Fellow at the Big Innovation Centre. Her latest role was Head of the Nutrition Performance Unit with global responsibility for investigating how nutrition affects the body and in particular the brain. In addition to her corporate and scientific achievements, she is involved in education and public service, in appraisal of doctors for the UK General Medical Council and as an assessor in the 2015 UK Higher Education Research Excellence Framework. Welcoming the latest addition to the board, Chairman Lani Bannach said. “Jackie Parkin makes a great addition to Essenta’s Advisory Board. She brings extensive scientific research experience with a specific focus on nutritional issues.
